You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t published here in a while. That’s because I’ve moved both the blog and the podcast elsewhere, for three reasons:
I’m somewhat uncomfortable with Substack’s promotion and direct payment of writers such as Matt Yglesias, who are pure reactionaries.
Substack’s publishing and podcasting tools are very limited and don’t allow for the use of external editors, API access, and so on.
The email-centric format of Substack makes it feel like every post has to be a magnum opus that is “worth it” for subscribers; that’s too high-stakes for me.
Anyway, the new blog is called The Content Lab. You can subscribe via email or just follow the RSS feed.
Meanwhile, the podcast now has its own dedicated site, which makes it much easier to follow via the client (Apple Podcasts, e.g.) of your choice.
I’ll likely “remaster” some of the posts here on the new site, so if you liked the "content” here, you may be interested in the new site, which also has a variety of shorter posts, too.
Thanks for reading and maybe I’ll see you soon,
Alex
